Welcome to Thermo-Auricular Therapy

Linda Stokes Sue Maunsell Regularly throughout the years Linda & Sue have been invited to lecture at professional meetings, demonstrate the therapy, display the training schedule, run workshops within exhibitions, and write articles for national press and therapy publications. Both are guest lecturers at various colleges.

When Ear Candling was first introduced to the UK in the early eighties there was no legitimate training available. 

Therapists who offered treatments at this time may have received the most rudimentary information from their supplier, the majority did not.  Instructional courses of an inconsistent quality occurred. BiØsun^®, manufacturers of very highly regarded candles, recognised the need to generate a professional training manual to complement the delivery of expert tuition to an appropriate professional standard. 

Both, having personally experienced the benefits for migraine relief and itchy ears, attended ‘tuition’ in their use. Independently neither was impressed, wishing to learn more, each set off on their Candle Quest. Equally disillusioned when unable to obtain insurance, the response received often one of scepticism of the benefits, and disbelief in their request.

Because of their senior positions and being highly experienced within professional complementary therapy  lecturing (both ITEC Tutors) along with their experience in the use of Ear Candle Therapy, Sue Maunsell and Linda Stokes, were approached through the UK distributor of BiØsun^®  candles and Mrs Birgit Ernst of the education department of BiØsun^® Germany to originate the training manual.

In the company of representatives of many therapy organisations and insurers, Mr Rose audiologist, Mr P Baker, Advisor in ENT disorders and Mr L Blake as consultants, Sue and Linda embarked on the assignment to compile a training manual for therapists to comply with the exacting criteria of all the insurance companies and accredited therapy associations, a feat lasting four years
